On Feb 2, Kanchan Foundation, represented by Chandrakant, Rajesh, Smita and Mamtaben visited Nasitpur along with several villages and reviewed many active projects in progress as well as new projects under consideration. The children along with teachers were ready to welcome us and presented a great show at Nasitpur to show appreciation for the Kanchan foundation grants to the school.

This year Kanchan Foundation sponsored construction of a large roof and the cement floor in the Nasitpur school compound. The roof meant a lot to them since now they can assemble all students at one place during monsoon, get a highly desirable shade during summer hot months. Prior to these facilities, the dirt floor became muddy during rainy days and became too hot during summer months making it unusable. In addition, important functions through out the year will be held at this covered compound not only for the school but other town events !
After Nasitpur village visit, we continued our journey through several villages on a dirt road where Kanchan Foundation is holding supplemental education classes as well as supply stationary (Blank note books, large and small, pen and pencils). Discussed ways to increase productivity of these operations having a 4-wheeler transportation rather than a 2-wheeler which Nikunj, employee of Kanchan Foundation operates.

Next stop was Pachhegam where children waiting to perform were performing morning prayers. Teachers and administrators including a community leader Chandubha showed appreciation for the funding by Kanchan Foundation for various projects. Also visited library largely financed by Kanchan Foundation. Number of books is increasing every year but the students enjoy daily newspapers, monthly and weekly magazines. Library also has a laptop which has internet connection.
One of the issues discussed was that girls do not attend this library since it is little far from their home as well as social norm where girls do not easily mix with boys. To address this situation, Mamtaben along with Rajesh and Smita are working with Chandubha to get a space from town where library can be built exclusively for the girls. Visited the site where this iibrary can be developed.
Passed through Pachhegam High school where there is a proposal to develop a much needed washroom for the girls. At present, due to lack of proper facility for the girl students, they sometimes go back to their house during school time and not return for the rest of the school day due to hot weather.
Conclusion

As we look ahead, the importance of education cannot be overstated. It is the foundation upon which we build our society, and initiatives like those of the Vora Charitable Foundation are essential in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow.
If you are inspired by the foundation's work, consider getting involved. Whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, every effort counts in the mission to support education for all. Together, we can make a difference.
